A robbery attempt along CITAM Church Road in Jamhuri, Nairobi was brought to an abrupt end after police officers on patrol intercepted and arrested one of two suspects who had been targeting members of the public in broad daylight.
According to the National Police Service, the incident unfolded along the busy stretch ordinarily frequented by traders, worshippers, motorists, and pedestrians going about their daily activities.
Panic broke out after reports emerged that two suspects, a motorcycle rider and his pillion passenger, had launched a robbery spree targeting unsuspecting members of the public.
Officers on patrol in the area responded swiftly to distress calls and moved to intercept the suspects as they attempted to flee.

The pillion passenger was intercepted and apprehended at the scene.
The rider, however, managed to escape, triggering an immediate manhunt.
Upon securing the arrested suspect, officers recovered a homemade pistol, one spent cartridge, and a bullet believed to have been discharged during the attempted getaway.
The situation on the ground was tense, with members of the public were calling for the suspect’s blood, but officers managed to restore order and secure all exhibits linked to the incident.
The NPS said the successful interception was a product of sustained patrols and close cooperation between officers and the public.
They assured members of the public that security operations remain active across the Nairobi Region as authorities continue to pursue criminal networks threatening the safety of city residents.
