Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on Wednesday, August 30, disclosed that he is planning to take Felix Orinda alias DJ Evolve to India for specialized treatment.

Speaking during a press briefing in Nairobi, Babu Owino promised to support DJ Evolve in all possible ways.

“The day I will be victorious is the day I will see DJ Evolve walk and stand by my side,

“I want to assure his family that I will walk with DJ Evolve and I will always be there for him and in fact am planning to take him to India for further treatment,” said Babu Owino.

The Embakasi East MP also appreciated his legal team led by Siaya Governor James Orengo for representing him in the case and emerging victorious.

He had been accused of misusing his firearm and shooting DJ Evolve, paralyzing him in the process.

Speaking after the judgment where he was acquitted, the MP also appreciated members of the public for being patient with him during the time of the case in court.

“I want to thank my wife and my family for the great support and patience they accorded me during this trial,

“I want to thank DJ Evolve for being my friend and for trusting in our friendship,” he added.

He at the same time insisted that he was innocent and the ruling was delivered according to the wish of the almighty God.

“I am praying to God to grant DJ Evolve the physical and spiritual strength, to heal Felix and enable him to walk again in the near future,” he concluded.

Babu Owino’s remarks come a day after the court acquitted him of a gun misuse charge in a case linked to the shooting of DJ Evolve in 2020.

During the ruling, Trial Magistrate Bernard Ochoi explained that the Embakasi East MP was innocent since the prosecution failed to prove the case in court.

“Having evaluated the evidence I find that the prosecution has failed to prove a case beyond reasonable doubt,” ruled the magistrate.

The magistrate also noted that police failed to investigate the matter and gather evidence to link Babu Owino to the shooting incident.

While testifying in court during the hearing of the case last month, DJ Evolve said that he did not see Babu Owino with a firearm during the shooting incident.
