Bridget Blue’s ‘RNB’ album eyes Grammy Awards glory in major career milestone

Kenyan R&B and soul singer Bridget Blue is taking a bold step towards global recognition, with her album Rhythm and Blue (RNB) now under consideration for the 69th Grammy Awards.

The announcement marks a significant moment for the singer, whose 12-track project is being considered in the Best Progressive R&B Album category, just six months after its release.

In an emotional video message to her fans on Friday, October 16, 2026, Bridget celebrated the milestone while making it clear that the album has not yet secured an official Grammy nomination.

“RNB has been considered for the Grammys in the Best Progressive R&B Album category. Now, it doesn’t mean we’ve been nominated yet, but this is such a huge and beautiful special step, and I want you guys to be a part of it,” she said.

For Bridget, the development puts her music on a bigger international radar and offers a fresh opportunity to showcase Kenyan R&B and Afro-soul to a wider audience.

12 Tracks, One Bold Musical Statement

Released on March 31, 2026, Rhythm and Blue blends R&B and Afro-soul across 12 tracks, featuring collaborations with two of Kenya’s celebrated musicians, Bien and Nikita Kering’.

Bien features on I Choose You, while Nikita Kering’ joins Bridget on Mimi Na Wewe.

The album’s other tracks include Ngozi Kama Jua, Ni Wewe, Mbuzi, Sober, 9 to 5, Waters of My Enemies, Always Mine, Set Me Free, Kuna Yule and Umbrella.

Reflecting on the project’s reception, Bridget said the response had surpassed her expectations, with listeners continuing to embrace the album months after its release.

“We released 12 tracks into the world and the reception was absolutely amazing,” she said.

Bridget Blue’s Growing International Ambitions

The Grammy consideration adds another chapter to Bridget’s growing musical journey. According to her official website, the singer is also a four-time All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) nominee.

Her AFRIMA nominations span Best Songwriter of the Year, Best Female Artist in Africa Inspirational Music, Best Artist, Duo or Group in African R&B and Soul, and Best Female Artist in Eastern Africa.

The latest development could further raise the profile of her music as she pursues a wider international audience.

However, being considered for a Grammy is not the same as receiving an official nomination. The consideration stage does not guarantee that an album will make the final nominees list.

Bridget Blue Calls On Fans To Push ‘RNB’ Further

As the album enters this new phase, Bridget is calling on her supporters to help take the music further.

She urged fans who have not listened to RNB to stream the project, share it with friends and introduce it to new audiences, stressing that even small acts of support can make a difference.

“You never know how far your like or your share can take us,” she told her supporters.

For Bridget Blue, the journey to Grammy recognition is not over. But with RNB under consideration, the singer has another milestone to celebrate and is inviting her fans to be part of what comes next.
