Coastal region leaders led by Senate Speaker Amason Kingi, Cabinet Secretaries Hassan Joho of Mining and Salim Mvurya of Sports, Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro, Kilifi North MP Owen Baya have intensified efforts to popularize the re-election of President William Ruto.
Speaking during a grassroots leaders meeting at Chumani area in Kilifi County, the leaders said they have formed a grassroots campaign machinery to popularize Ruto’s re-election bid in the 2027 general elections.
The leaders noted that they have been yearning to be in government and now the right opportunity had come under President William Ruto who was including the region in his development agenda and appointments.
“Right now, we have discovered the importance of politics of being in government that’s why we called you here to tell you the importance of being in government so that in 2027 we come up with the line up of William Ruto,” said Kingi.
Kilifi North MP Owen Baya said Coast will not go to opposition and dismissed the section of leaders who are supporting Riggy G, terming them as hungry leaders.
At the same time, Roads Board Chairperson Aisha Jumwa called on residents to support Ruto and reject the opposition as he was the only leader who was pushing for the development of the region.
