The Republic of Congo’s government has denied speculations that there had been a coup in the country.
“Fanciful information suggests serious events that are underway at #Brazzaville. The Government denies this fake news,” Minister of Communication Thierry Moungalla said in a statement posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday, September 18 night.
Moungalla went to re-assure the Congolese people to calmly go about their activities.
Speculations are still rife that there was an attempted coup against President Denis Sassou Nguesso on Sunday.
