Democratic Party Leader Justin Muturi has intensified his criticism of Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale over remarks he recently made in Mandera.

Muturi has called on the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) to investigate the remarks, saying leaders should avoid statements that could fuel division.

Speaking in Nanyuki, Laikipia County, during the opening of a new Democratic Party office, Muturi described the remarks as regrettable and accused the government of turning a blind eye to divisive politics.

He argued that the Kikuyu community played a significant role in President William Ruto’s victory during the last general election and said such contributions should not be undermined.

He warned that if the NCIC fails to take action, his coalition would hold the commission accountable should it form the next government after the 2027 General Election.

The Democratic Party leader also dismissed what he described as attempts by some political leaders to divide the Mount Kenya voting bloc for political gain.

He urged leaders to focus on national unity instead of advancing narratives that could create divisions among communities.

Muturi maintained that Kenya’s political discourse should be guided by respect, cohesion and issue-based leadership as the country prepares for the 2027 General Election.
