Gor Mahia land KSh30 million sponsorship boost after historic league triumph

Fresh off clinching a record-extending 22nd FKF Premier League title, Gor Mahia have secured a major financial boost after renewing their sponsorship agreement with Kansai Plascon Kenya Limited in a deal worth Ksh30 million over the next three years.

The new partnership marks a significant increase from the initial KSh5 million sponsorship package that the paint manufacturer signed with the club midway through the 2025/26 season.

Gor Mahia’s relationship with Kansai Plascon Kenya began on December 15, 2025, when the company entered into a short-term agreement worth KSh5 million that was set to run until the end of the season. Following the success of that collaboration, both parties have now committed to a long-term partnership.

In addition to the renewed sponsorship, the Kenyan champions also received a KSh1 million bonus in recognition of their league-winning campaign.

The sponsorship agreement was officially signed during a ceremony held at the Mövenpick Hotel in Nairobi and attended by Gor Mahia patron Eliud Owalo, club officials, and representatives from Kansai Plascon Kenya.

Confirming the deal in a statement shared on social media, Owalo said: “This morning, I witnessed the signing of a new three-year Ksh30 million sponsorship deal between Gor Mahia FC and Kansai Plascon Kenya Ltd.”

He added: “The Plascon team was led by Managing Director Kota Enami, while the Gor Mahia management was led by Chairman Ambrose Rachier.”

Owalo welcomed the renewed commitment from the sponsor, describing it as a major boost for the club as it prepares for continental football next season.

“I thank Plascon for the sponsorship and appeal to more corporate sponsors to come on board,” he said.

The sponsorship comes at a crucial time for Gor Mahia, who are now shifting their focus to the CAF Champions League after successfully reclaiming the FKF Premier League crown. The enhanced financial backing is expected to strengthen the club’s preparations as they seek to compete effectively on the continental stage.
