Police in Homa Bay have arrested Kassim Abdi Sebo, described by officers as a “chief goon,” months after chaos erupted during a political rally in the county.
Sebo was apprehended at Homa Bay Bus Stage on Thursday, October 8 night as officers from Homa Bay Police Station and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) enforced an arrest warrant issued by the Homa Bay Law Courts on August 14, 2026.

According to a police occurrence book report, the warrant concerns allegations of assault causing actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 251 of the Penal Code.
Seven other men were also arrested for allegedly obstructing police officers during Sebo’s arrest.
The suspects are Achiando Victor Odhiambo, 26, Isaac Masika Muliro, 30, Oyege Moses Geoffrey, 27, Geoffrey Njore, 25, Odhiambo Wesley Arnold, 26, Joseph Kobila, 28, and Alfred Nyagiro Aliwa, 26.
The operation was conducted under the command of Homa Bay County Police Commander Lawrence Koilem.
All eight suspects remain in police custody pending their arraignment in court.
