Former Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza and Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale on Saturday 25th July 2026, joined the Linda Mwananchi movement during its political tour of Trans Nzoia County, adding fresh political weight to the opposition outfit as it steps up mobilisation ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Mwangaza, who recently declared her support for the movement after meeting its leaders in Nairobi, accompanied the opposition team during rallies held across Trans Nzoia. Photos shared on social media showed her alongside the movement’s top leadership as they interacted with supporters throughout the day.
Welcoming the former governor, Linda Mwananchi spokesperson and Suba South MP Caroli Omondi posted:
“A warm welcome to Her Excellency Governor Kawira Mwangaza in Kitale, Trans Nzoia. One Team One Mission.”
The political caravan made stopovers in Moi’s Bridge and Sibanga before proceeding to Kitale Town, where leaders are set to hold their final rally of the day.
The tour also marked the first public appearance of Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale alongside the Linda Mwananchi leadership.
Khalwale, who also leads the United Patriotic Movement (UPM) party, shared a promotional poster on his social media platforms welcoming the Linda Mwananchi team to Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties.

The Western Kenya mobilisation will continue on Sunday, when the delegation heads to Bungoma County for Nairobi Senator Sifuna’s homecoming.

According to the programme released by the organisers, the team will begin the day with a church service at Kiminini Catholic Church before making stopovers at Kamukuywa, Kimilili, and Chwele markets for roadside engagements with residents.
The tour will culminate at Bungoma Posta Grounds, where Sifuna is expected to receive a major homecoming reception and be officially endorsed by local leaders and supporters as he continues to popularise his presidential ambitions ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The ongoing Western Kenya tour forms part of Linda Mwananchi’s broader strategy to strengthen its grassroots support as the opposition continues to consolidate ahead of the next national polls.
