Kisii Woman Rep urges foreigners doing business in Kenya to comply with set laws

Kisii County Woman Representative Dorice Aburi has called on foreigners living and doing business in Kenya to comply with the country’s laws and regulations governing their stay, employment and business activities.

Speaking after meeting women from Bomariba Ward in Bonchari Constituency, Aburi said President William Ruto’s directive that local communities should benefit from businesses and factories established in Kenya by foreign investors must be upheld.

“In Kenya the government has put structures in place to be followed by all foreigners who intend to do business in the country, there are no favours for anyone,” she said.

She said foreigners operating in the country should respect Kenya’s migration laws and ensure they comply with all legal requirements governing their stay and economic activities.

At the same time, she emphasized that foreign investors have an important role to play in Kenya’s economy, but their operations should be conducted within the law while ensuring that local communities also benefit from the opportunities created.

“Locals must be beneficiaries of companies linked to foreign investors in Kenya, and the President has given a directive that the set regulations must be followed by both local and foreign manufacturers ,” she added.
