A sitting Kitui MCA has been arrested in Nairobi over a series of alleged mobile phone thefts reported in the city’s Central Business District in August and September 2026.
Cyrus Kisavi Musyoka, who represents Ikanga/Kyatune Ward in Kitui County, was arrested by detectives from Kamukunji Police Station along Mfangano Street following investigations into the reported incidents.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said detectives used CCTV footage to identify Musyoka in connection with three separate phone theft cases.
His arrest has also brought to light an outstanding warrant in a separate theft case.
Musyoka is wanted in Criminal Case No. 112/303/2024 after failing to appear in court following his release on bond by Makadara Law Courts, where he had been charged with stealing.
He remains in police custody as detectives process him ahead of his arraignment in court.
The DCI said it would continue pursuing suspects and bringing them before the courts, regardless of their status in society.
