The Suspect in the gruesome murder of Instagram model starlet Wahu, John Matara has today been charged with another case of rape and robbery with Violence.

It is alleged that Matara robbed his victim of KSh18,300 from M-pesa, KSh30,000 cash, a phone valued at KSh25,000 and another worth KSh15,000, totalling to KSh 88,300 this will holding her at Knife point.

According to the court, the offense was committed on May 16th 2023 at Kahawa Wendani.

“John Matara Ong’oa on May 16, 2023, at Kahawa Wendani, Ruiru subcounty in Kiambu County unlawfully manipulated the legs of his victim to cause penetration,” the count of sexual assault reads.

However while appearing before Magistrate Charles Mwaniki at the Ruiru Law Courts, John Matara denied all the charges leveled against him and maintained on his innocence.

In his defence, Lawyer Samuel Ayora refuted the claims and maintained that his client was innocent. He also urged the court to grant him bail, noting that Matara is not a flight risk.

Meanwhile Matara’s Lawyer Ayora requested that Matara be escorted to a medical facility for treatment and that the medical report be submitted to the court.

This is Matara was allegedly assaulted by DCI officers will en route to the Ruiru Law Courts ,Further, he claimed that his private parts were also pulled by the officers.

The state prosecutor urged the court to issue an order to facilitate a DNA test to be conducted to allow both parties to establish the facts.

While reviewing the evidence, Magistrate Mwaniki directed that Matara should be escorted to Ruiru Police Station to file a report over the incident.

He also ordered Matara to be taken to the hospital under tight security and a DNA test to be taken for review.
