Police in Turbi, Marsabit County, have arrested one suspect and recovered an AK-47 rifle loaded with 11 rounds of ammunition.

Officers from Turbi Police Station acted on a tip-off before intercepting the suspect and recovering the firearm.

The suspect is being held at the police station as officers prepare to process him for arraignment.

The firearm has been secured as an exhibit as investigations continue.

The National Police Service has thanked members of the public for providing information that led to the recovery.

Police have urged the public to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the available emergency and DCI reporting channels.
