Motorists in Homa Bay County joined others across the country in protesting the continued rise in fuel prices, saying the situation is crippling their transport businesses and increasing the cost of living.
Speaking to the press, the operators said the high fuel costs have drastically reduced their profits, forcing many of them to struggle to meet daily expenses while maintaining normal transport fares for passengers.
The motorists noted that operating under the current fuel prices has become unsustainable, with some warning that transport charges may soon increase if the situation is not addressed.
They also called on President William Ruto to fulfill the promises he made during the campaign period, especially on lowering the cost of living and easing the burden on ordinary Kenyans.
