Bumula Member of Parliament (MP) Jack Wamboka has been suspended following allegations of soliciting bribes.
The action was instituted after numerous complaints were filed by witnesses who appeared before the Public Investments Committee on Governance and Education, which he chairs.
In a letter addressed to the Speaker of the National Assembly, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) raised concerns over what it described as open hostility, harassment, and demeaning treatment of its officers who appeared before the committee.
The Commission further alleges that the Committee Chairperson, MP Wamboka, demanded bribes as a precondition for granting an audience or offering favourable consideration during committee proceedings.
