A suspected drug trafficker has been arrested in Butere Sub-County after law enforcement officers raided his home and recovered a massive amount of cannabis sativa weighing 155 kilogrammes.

Acting on a tip-off, a security team went to the home of Dennis Obera in Ebushitinji village, Lunza Division, where they thoroughly searched the property and found five sizable bags of the prohibited material.

Despite believing his remote location would shield him from the long arm of the law, Obera’s luck ran out when officers came knocking.

He was arrested on the spot and escorted to Butere Police Station, where he is currently being processed ahead of his arraignment in court.

The recovered cannabis has been secured as evidence as investigations into the matter continue.
