Police officers have arrested four suspects and recovered 26 stolen mobile phones in two separate operations targeting organised phone theft rings in Nairobi.
In the first operation, officers from Central Police Station acted on intelligence and raided two premises, recovering 11 mobile phones suspected to have been stolen and arresting two suspects in connection with the finds.
In the second incident, officers from Shauri Moyo Police Station responded swiftly to distress calls from a woman who had just been robbed of her phone along Digo Road.
A search led officers to Majengo slums, where they recovered the victim’s phone alongside 14 additional handsets also suspected to have been stolen.
Two more suspects were arrested at the scene.
All four suspects are in custody awaiting arraignment, while the recovered phones have been retained as exhibits.
The public has been reminded to remain vigilant and to avoid purchasing unverified gadgets from unauthorised dealers.
