Prezzo quits secular music for gospel with help of Rev. Lucy Natasha

In a surprising turn, Jackson Ngechu, popularly known as CMB Prezzo, has bid farewell to secular music and embraced gospel.

He publicly dedicated his life to Christ on October 27, 2024, during a service at ECC Nairobi, guided by Rev. Lucy Natasha.

With this bold step, Prezzo debuted his first gospel single under Rev. Natasha’s mentorship, expressing hope that his music will reach and inspire the youth.

Standing before the congregation, the newly converted gospel artist expressed heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Natasha.

“I want to send a very big shout-out to her, Reverend Lucy Natasha,” Prezzo shared. “If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be in the gospel zone.”

Embracing his new purpose, he added, “We are going to do a song for the Lord, and I want to premiere it in front of you beautiful people.”

His voice, backed by a vibrant choir, filled the room, energizing the crowd, who joined in dancing and celebrating.

Rev. Natasha joined the celebration, eventually stepping onto the altar to pray and dedicate the song to God.

She prayed that God would use Prezzo as His vessel, blessing him with songs that uplift and encourage others.

Rev. Natasha later celebrated Prezzo’s shift on social media, writing, “When You Enter His Presence With Praise, He Enters Your Circumstances With Power! Congratulations to my Spiritual Son @prezzo254 for the release of your new gospel song that launched today @eccnairobi. May God use you to reach our youth. Our Generation is Our Responsibility. Proud of You, Son.”

Prezzo’s journey to this point was one of glitz and glamour. Born in Nairobi in the 1980s, he grew up in Eastleigh and pursued music from a young age.

His big break came in the early 2000s when he released his debut album, Naleta Action, in 2004.

The album, featuring hits like “Naleta Action,” “Let’s Get Down,” “Mahangaiko,” and “Leo ni Leo,” made waves across East Africa and showcased Prezzo’s knack for showmanship and luxury. One memorable touch was his own mother’s feature in a song on the album.

Known for his flashy lifestyle, Prezzo captivated fans with his love for expensive jewelry, luxury cars, and stylish attire.

Over the years, he became an icon in East African music, known for his music and his flossing antics.
