Relief for Kalama residents who walked for long distances since indepence to access gov’t services

It is a sigh of relief for locals of Kalama area in Machakos County who used to walk for long distances since independence to look for government services.

This is after they received a reprieve in form of a construction of the Deputy County Commissioner’s (DCC) office in Kyangala Town in Kalama Sub-County .

The facility initiated by Machakos Township MP Caleb Mutiso Muli, through the NG-CDF, will cost KSh10 million and solve problems faced for many years by area residents who used to walk for long distances to acquire goverment services.

Speaking during a ground breaking ceremony, MP Mule said the move will solve perrenial problems in the area, giving residents quick access to government services as majority are poor and unable to walk for long distances to Malili DCC office.
