Health providers contracted by the Social Health Authority have until September 30 2026, to renew contracts or risk losing access to the services SHA provides from October 1.

SHA has called on healthcare facilities and other healthcare providers who wish to continue serving the people who benefit from the insurance scheme to complete the renewal process by Wednesday 11:59 or they will be locked out.

Entities that fail to complete the renewal process will not be allowed to offer any SHA related services from October 1 2026, access to online services will also be turned off .

At the same time, SHA has advised healthcare providers and facilities that have not received the renewal contracts to make arrangements for the patients receiving treatment to shift to other healthcare facilities which have been contracted for the new system.

The new contracts will run from 2026 -2029 as the Ministry of Health moves towards the digital system, an online system that allows healthcare providers to apply for the contracts, submit the documents and complete the process online.

The new system is designed to deal with some of the challenges from the old system which the healthcare providers encountered including delayed payments, claim processing and pre-authorization.
