Siaya County staff who disappeared while on duty found alive; tied, stashed in sack and dumped in Vihiga

Nicholas Ooro, the Siaya County staff who went missing while on duty on Monday, February 26 night has been found.

Ooro was found badly injured and tied up in a suck, dumped in a trench in Gambogi, Vihiga County, along the Kisumu-Kakamega Highway.

According to a police report filed at Gambogi Police Station, people going to work early in the morning on Thursday, February 29 at around 6 am discovered a young man tied in a suck.

They immediately informed the Officer Commanding Gambogi Police Station.

“Together with the police officers we unfolded the man and he was alive, he was able to speak and pointed out that his name is;
Nicholas Oluoch 36yrs old and he works for Siaya County as an enforcement officer,” the police report read in part.

The family of Nicholas Ooro, an enforcement officer at Siaya County Gov’t, led by his wife Mary Auma, had pleaded with the police to investigate thoroughly the mysterious disappearance of their kin.

The report says that the man further said that on Monday while on duty, he was attacked by unknown people who beat her up.

“…and he doesn’t understand how he found himself in that state,” the report adds.

Ooro has since been taken to Mbale County Referral Hospital for treatment and further interrogation.
