Six activists have been released on a cash bail of KSh 3,000 each after they were arraigned at the Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi and charged with obstructing the operation of vehicles on a road.
The six—Collins Otieno, Nyanjom Joshua, Mulinge Muteti, Julius Kamau, Michael Ngige and Elisha Otieno—were charged under Section 58(c) of the Road Act, Chapter 408 of the Laws of Kenya.

The prosecution alleges that on August 17, 2026, along Taifa Road in Nairobi, the six, jointly with others who were not before the court, unlawfully obstructed the movement of motor vehicles by barricading the road.
According to the charge sheet, the activists allegedly used two dummy wooden caskets and two small wooden crosses to barricade the road, thereby obstructing the operation of motor vehicles along the road.
The six pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The case to be mentioned in two weeks for pre-trial.
