The National Masters Championships brought together athletes aged 35 years and above from across the country. Elgeyo Marakwet fielded a team of 21 athletes, with six qualifying to represent Kenya on the international stage.

According to the County Masters Athletics Chairman Aaron Chumo from Kipsoen village in Elgeyo Marakwet, the athletes who qualified to represent Kenya are Francis Bowen (52) in the 10,000m and 5,000m races, Rosalyne David (50) in the 10,000m and 5,000m, Leonida Opiyo (58) in the 1,500m and 5,000m, Paul Kipkorir (45) in the 10,000m, Florence Chepsoi (42) in the 10,000m and 1,500m, and Julius Bilat (73) in the 10,000m and 1,500m events.
