TIFA report ranks top performing Woman Representatives in Kenya

Kenya’s political landscape is undergoing a gradual yet significant transformation as voters increasingly embrace issue based leadership, accountability, and grassroots driven governance.

The latest survey findings released by TIFA Research have ranked the country’s top performing Women Representatives based on public approval ratings and voter perception trends for 2026.

According to the report, Zamzam Mohamed Chimba of Mombasa County emerged as the highest rated Woman Representative nationally with an impressive approval rating of 86 percent.

She was closely followed by Rahab Mukami Wachira of Nyeri County with 84 percent, while Leah Sopiato Sankaire secured third position nationally with 78 percent.
Liza Chelule of Nakuru County ranked fourth with 74 percent, followed by Elsie Muhanda of Kakamega County at 71 percent.

Monicah Muthoni Marubu garnered 68 percent, while Rose Museo Mumo received 66 percent approval.
Catherine Omanyo attained 64 percent, as Mumina Gollo Bonaya secured 61 percent.
Rounding up the top ten rankings was Beatrice Kemei with an approval rating of 58 percent.
The survey attributes the strong public ratings to effective grassroots engagement, accessibility to wananchi, empowerment initiatives, visible development programs, and active intervention in addressing social and economic challenges affecting local communities.

The findings further indicate that Kenyan voters are increasingly evaluating leaders based on measurable service delivery, accountability, visibility, and development impact rather than ethnic or political affiliations.

The report also highlights that Women Representatives who maintain close engagement with residents, champion education support programs, youth empowerment initiatives, women economic inclusion, and community outreach continue to enjoy growing public confidence across the country.

The findings additionally reveal growing national appreciation for inclusive leadership, with leaders from historically underrepresented counties such as Lamu and Isiolo gaining significant public recognition for their accessibility and performance.

At the same time, the role of Women Representatives continues to generate national debate, with citizens increasingly demanding stronger accountability, legislative visibility, and tangible development outcomes from elected leaders.

The survey paints a picture of an evolving political environment where performance based leadership, transparency, responsiveness, and direct community impact are steadily becoming the defining standards of governance in Kenya.

The nationwide survey was conducted between April 20th and May 15th 2026 through telephonic interviews involving 6,129 respondents sampled across all 47 counties.

For many political observers, the report signals the growing influence of women leaders within Kenya’s democratic and governance landscape as the country gradually shifts focus toward the 2027 General Election.
