Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok was on Monday, April 15 involved in a minor accident at Kipsorwet area on the Narok-Kericho Highway.
The accident involved his Toyota Prado vehicle and a bodaboda near Fair Hills Hotel.
In the incident that occured around 10 am, the county chief escaped unhurt while a pillion passenger of the bodaboda sustained minor forehead injuries.
Prof. Barchok was driven off the scene of accident immediately in another vehicle.
The injured passenger was rushed to Longisa County Referral Hospital where he was treated and discharged on the same day.
Confirming the incident, Bomnet Central Police Boss Musa Imamai said the bodaboda rider was at fault when he made a U-turn and was hit by the governor’s vehicle.
“The pillion passenger was injured while the bodaboda rider escaped immediately after the accident and is being sought by the police to record a statement,” Imamai said.
