Youths unite to eradicate crime through sporting activities in Mombasa

Youths from Mombasa came together for a pool tournament that saw them showcase their talent as well as discussing how they can fight idleness.

During the pool tournament, the youths were enlightened on why the sport activity is not a waste of time.

Among the challenges that most youths face is financial instability. Such tournaments can be  a source of  income for the youth as they charge a fee for those coming to watch them play.

Parents present during the tournament also urged the government to invest in the youths and come up with more sports activities for them.

Joblessness and idleness among young people has led most of them into criminal activities.

However, with such a tournament, the youth will have no time to participate in criminal activities.

If the youth get empowered, it will be easy for them to reach out to their mates and enlighten them on the need to quit crime.

At the same time, the young people were encouraged to identify their talents and make good use of them to earn income.

They were also asked to be on the lookout for platforms where they could display their talents in sports, music and other art related fields.

However, many people think pool is for idlers, making it uncommon.
