Cape Media signs MoU with Institute of Surveyors of Kenya to boost land sector awareness

Cape Media Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Institute of Surveyors of Kenya in a move aimed at strengthening public awareness and advocacy on land, housing, and built environment issues across the country.

The partnership, signed during the ongoing ISK conference in Mombasa, will see the two institutions collaborate in amplifying conversations around land reforms, professional standards, urban planning, and sustainable development through media engagement.

Speaking after the signing ceremony, Cape Media CEO Mwenda Njoka said the collaboration reflects the media house’s commitment to informing and educating Kenyans on critical national issues affecting communities.

“We believe the media has a key role in shaping public understanding on matters touching on land, planning, housing and development. This partnership with ISK will help bridge the information gap and give experts a platform to engage the public accurately,” said Mwenda Njoka.

ISK President Eric Nyadimo welcomed the partnership, noting that increased media engagement will help demystify the surveying profession while promoting accountability and professionalism in the land sector.

The agreement is also expected to support public sensitization campaigns, policy discussions, and coverage of emerging issues within the surveying and built environment sectors.

The two organizations expressed optimism that the collaboration will enhance public participation and improve awareness on land governance and infrastructure development in Kenya.
