Kenyan singer Bensoul is earning high praise for his electrifying stage presence, with media personality and choreographer Chiki Kuruka revealing that his performances are so impressive she uses them as teaching tools in her professional development programmes.
In a glowing tribute shared on Saturday, October 17, 2026, Chiki described Bensoul as one of the hardest artists to rival when it comes to commanding the stage, highlighting a talent that goes beyond simply entertaining an audience.
“It’s GENUINELY hard to find an artist with better stage presence than Bensoul. I literally use his performances as a teaching tool when I’m doing development programs,” she stated.
Her remarks offer a glimpse into what makes Bensoul stand out in Kenya’s competitive music industry: the ability to turn live performances into lessons in stagecraft, audience engagement and the art of captivating a crowd.
Bensoul’s Journey Beyond The Music
Known for his soulful sound, compelling lyrics and collaborations with prominent musicians, Bensoul has steadily carved out a place for himself in the Kenyan music scene.
He has worked with artists including Bien, Okello Max, Mordecai Dex, Juma Jux, Nadia Mukami, Mejja and Wanavokali, among others, expanding his musical reach across different audiences.
In 2023, he began a new chapter in his career after his five-year deal with Sol Generation Records ended, going on to establish his own record label, Lion of Sudah.
His contribution to Burna Boy’s 2020 album Twice as Tall also earned him recognition as part of the team behind the project, which won the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album in 2021.
Yet, beyond the collaborations, accolades and career milestones, Chiki’s praise shines a spotlight on a different aspect of his artistry: his ability to command attention when he steps onto the stage.
For an artist whose performances can serve as practical lessons for others, Bensoul’s appeal appears to extend beyond the music itself – demonstrating that a memorable performance is not just about singing, but about making every moment on stage count.
