Two people have been shot dead in a fresh suspected banditry attack in Romos, along the West Pokot–Turkana border, heightening tension in the volatile region.
The latest incident comes amid renewed cases of banditry and livestock raids along the border of the two counties, with residents expressing concern over their safety and calling for urgent government intervention.
The killings come as security agencies intensify operations across parts of West Pokot and Turkana following a recent wave of deadly attacks.
Multi-agency security teams, including the Kenya Defence Forces and police, have been deployed to several hotspots, while authorities have called for increased community cooperation to help identify and apprehend suspected bandits.
