Embakasi East Sub-County, Utawala Ward, MCA Patrick Karani and two other men have been arrested following a police operation in the Roasters area of Nairobi that led to the recovery of an unlicensed Glock pistol.
Police raided the MCA’s office and arrested Patrick Karani, Stephen Kimathi Karimoni, and Stanley Njogu Irungu.
Officers recovered a pistol and a magazine loaded with 12 rounds of 9mm ammunition during the operation.
Preliminary investigations established that the weapon was being held without a valid licence.
With the Glock pistol and its ammunition secured as exhibits, the three suspects remain in custody as detectives complete processing ahead of their arraignment in court.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations reiterated that unlawful possession of firearms poses a serious threat to public safety, warning that anyone found in breach of firearms laws will face the full force of the law.
