Fanta Launches #SkiziaUtamu: A Nationwide Youth Movement Blending Music, Culture, and Digital Creativity

Fanta has officially launched #SkiziaUtamu, a multi-month nationwide campaign designed to immerse Kenyan youth in music, campus culture, content creation, and interactive consumer experiences. Running from August through November 2026, the ambitious initiative connects physical campus events with digital content creation, inviting Gen Z across Kenya to shape what deliciousness means to them.

The nationwide movement kicked off on August 22, 2026, at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi, where the venue was transformed into the FantaVerse—an immersive experience celebrating the vibrant colors, flavors, and creative energy of local youth culture. The electrifying launch set a high bar for the months ahead, featuring live performances from top Kenyan acts, including Chris Kaiga, Matata, MC Gogo, Nikita Kering, and Collo Blue. Alongside these high-energy sets, Fanta unveiled the official #SkiziaUtamu campaign anthem, a collaborative track co-created with local talent that sets the tone for a movement centered on self-expression, music, and community.

The Uhuru Gardens event marks only the beginning of a larger nationwide rollout. Over the next four months, Fanta is taking the #SkiziaUtamu experience directly to university and college campuses across the country. These campus takeovers will turn university grounds into interactive hubs complete with product sampling, DJ sets, dance and rap battles, gaming zones, and creator meet-and-greets. To extend the reach beyond physical venues, the campaign includes the Fanta UGC Challenge, where young creators scan a campaign QR code, register, and post their content using #SkiziaUtamu to showcase their humor, personality, and creativity on a national stage. Additionally, institutions will participate in the Campus & College Competition, working together to achieve shared targets tied to Fanta consumption and the responsible collection and recycling of Fanta packaging. Winning campuses will unlock a full-scale FantaVerse festival on their grounds, complete with artists, creators, games, and live entertainment.

Rather than delivering a traditional top-down advertising push, #SkiziaUtamu relies heavily on co-creation. By putting artists, creators, and students at the center of the narrative, Fanta is building a platform where digital trends and real-world activations continuously feed into one another. Speaking on the vision behind the movement, Juliana Kituma, Director of Frontline Marketing at Coca-Cola Kenya, emphasized that for 2026, the brand is taking things up a notch by strengthening its presence in the spaces where Kenyan youth live, play, and create. She noted that #SkiziaUtamu is ultimately about delivering unforgettable experiences across music, gaming, campus culture, creator communities, and digital platforms, giving young people the chance to express themselves, connect with what they love, and turn everyday moments into something delicious.
