Property of unknown value has been destroyed in Marurui area in Nairobi County after fire gutted several structures early Sunday, August 23 morning.

In videos circulating on social media platforms, affected residents are seen running helter skelter with buckets of water, trying to put out the fire that spread rapidly through the area. Business owners are also seen scrambling to salvage what they can from their stalls.

Some of the residents claim that the county fire brigade team arrived too late at the scene.
