Four killed as private vehicle collides head-on with a school bus in Eldoret

Four people, including a four-and-a-half-year-old girl, were on Friday, January 10 killed after a vehicle they were travelling in was involved in an accident at Mutwot area on the Eldoret-Kapsabet Road.

According to a police report seen by TV47 Digital, the private vehicle, a Toyota Hiace, was being driven from Kapsabet direction towards Eldoret.

But upon reaching the location of the accident, the driver swerved to his right under unclear circumstances, colliding head-on with an oncoming bus belonging to Cheptabach Secondary School.

As a result, the driver of the private vehicle, two adult passengers and the girl died on the spot.

An unknown number of passengers in both vehicles were rushed to different hospitals in the region.

The bodies of the deceased persons were removed to Samaritan Funeral Home in Kapsabet.

The two vehicles have since been towed to Mosoriot Police Station, awaiting inspection.
