Juja OCS nursing arrow wounds after attack during illicit brew raid in Gachororo

The officer commanding Juja Police Station (OCS) John Misoi is nursing arrow wounds after an operation targeting illicit liquor and drug dens turned violent on Sunday, March 31 night.

Confirming the incident, Kiambu County Police Commander Michael Muchiri said that Misoi had led a team of officers in raiding a notorious illicit liquor and bhang den in Gachororo village when the attack happened.

“The OCS sustained a wound to his right leg, with an arrow lodged in his knee. Immediate medical attention was sought, and Misoi underwent surgery to remove the projectile,” Muchiri said.

Following the incident, a manhunt has been launched for the perpetrator while the alleged bhang peddler has been arrested and is currently detained at Juja Police Station.

Muchiri commended the officers involved for their dedication in combating drug and substance abuse, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to eradicate the menace from the community.

Local representatives, including MP George Koimburi and MCA Jeremiah Kiama, expressed their dismay over the incident, urging residents to support law enforcement efforts in combating illicit activities.

They called for increased police presence in Juja to address the escalating insecurity issues attributed to the area’s growing population.
