Kenya Railways Corporation staff member Oscar Awange Akoth has been charged with allegedly forging and uttering a KCSE certificate.
According to the charge sheet, Akoth is accused of committing the offence on July 23, 2020, at the Kenya Railways Corporation offices in Nairobi County.
The prosecution alleges that Akoth knowingly and fraudulently uttered a false document, namely KCE certificate number 624785, purportedly issued by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) for the year 1993. He is accused of presenting the document as a genuine KCSE certificate issued by KNEC.
Akoth pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecution did not oppose his release on bail, and the court granted him cash bail of KSh70,000.
