A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to three years in prison after he pleaded guilty to assaulting another man, whom he accuses of eloping with his 17-year-old girlfriend.
Appearing before Eldoret Senior Magistrate Richard Odenyo in Kenya, Emmanuel Sidani said he acted out of anger and jealousy when he attacked Ezekiel Aluvale on May 17, 2023, in Kambi Mawe, Turbo Constituency, Uasin Gishu County.
The court heard that on the material day, Sidani raided Aluvale’s home, busting him with his lover who had been missing for several days.
– Sidani infuriated –
Sidani is said to have attacked Aluvale with a blunt object, inflicting injuries on him.
He did not stop there… He smashed Aluvale’s television into pieces.
The accused told the court that he regrets his actions.
