Nadia Mukami announces separation from Arrow Bwoy after emotional struggles with postpartum depression

African popstar Nadia Mukami has announced that she has separated from her longtime partner, fellow musician Ali Yusuf popularly known as Arrow Bwoy, after what she described as a painful and emotionally draining period in her life.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on May 20, 2026, the Radio Love hitmaker opened up about the struggles she has faced over the past one and a half years, revealing that the couple had been experiencing an on-and-off relationship while trying to hold their family together.

“Over the past few months, I made the difficult decision to go separate ways with my partner. This has not been an easy journey for either of us, especially because we were not only partners in life, but also parents to young children who mean the world to us,” she wrote.

The award-winning singer further revealed that she has been battling postpartum depression while balancing motherhood, business, public life and her music career.

“As a mother, this transition has affected me deeply emotionally, mentally and personally. Balancing motherhood, healing, work and public life while trying to remain strong for my children has been one of the hardest experiences I have faced,” Nadia stated.

She added that despite fighting to save the relationship, things did not work out as she had hoped.

“Being a lady that always wanted family, I fought sooo hard but I guess I lost,” she wrote.

In one of the most emotional parts of her statement, Nadia described the pressure she has been facing behind the scenes.

“Battling postpartum, a new baby, a failed relationship, a toddler, public image, business and career should be added to a million ways to die,” she shared.

Despite the separation, the mother of two emphasized that she and Arrow Bwoy remain committed to co-parenting their children peacefully.

“Despite the changes in our relationship, we remain committed to coparenting with love, respect, and maturity for the sake of our children’s wellbeing and future,” she said.

The two musicians share two sons and have often publicly celebrated their relationship and family moments on social media. By the time of publication, Arrow Bwoy had not publicly responded to Nadia’s statement.
