Timothy Kimani, alias Njugush, has confirmed that he and his wife Celestine Ndinda, popularly known as Wakavinye, parted ways last year, bringing clarity to weeks and months of online speculation about their relationship.
In a statement, the Kenyan comedian revealed that the decision to separate was mutual and made after careful consideration.
“Last year we made a decision to part ways after much thought and with mutual respect,” he said.
Njugush added that despite the separation, the two have continued to co-parent their children, emphasising that their well-being remains their main focus.
“We have been co-parenting, and our children remain our top priority,” he stated, while also asking the public for privacy and understanding as they navigate this phase of their lives.
The confirmation comes after sustained speculation on social media, fueled by the couple’s reduced joint appearances and unverified claims surrounding their personal lives.
Njugush and Wakavinye built a strong public image through their relatable comedy and storytelling, sharing their journey from campus life to marriage and parenthood.
Their partnership became central to their brand, making any shift in their relationship highly noticeable to their audience.
While Njugush has now confirmed the separation and co-parenting arrangement, questions remain about their future professional collaborations, including their popular Through Thick and Thin (TTNT) shows.
