A joint security operation in Bungoma County has led to the recovery of twelve stolen cattle and the arrest of two suspects following a report by livestock owners who lost fourteen heads of cattle while grazing in the Kaperua Forest area.
National Police Service officers, working alongside National Government Administration Officers, launched an extensive search in neighbouring areas after receiving the report.
Through coordinated efforts on the ground, twelve of the stolen animals were tracked down and recovered at Kipsigon Forest in Kopsiro Sub-County.
The two suspects arrested in connection with the theft are currently in police custody awaiting further investigation and legal action.
The recovered cattle have been secured, and arrangements are underway for their identification by the rightful owners ahead of a formal handover.
The NPS reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with other security agencies, local administration, and members of the public to combat cattle rustling, describing the multi-agency partnership as a key tool in disrupting criminal activities and building safer communities.
