South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will host Kenyan President William Ruto for a three-day state visit from June 3-5, 2026, with official events starting on June 4, 2026, at the Union Buildings in Tshwane.
According to the Presidency of the Republic of South Africa’s statement, the visit is expected to strengthen the relationship between the two countries, which was re-established in 1994.
“South Africa and Kenya enjoy long-standing mutually beneficial and cordial relations that were re-established in 1994. South Africa values Kenya as a strategic partner in the East African region and the continent,” The Presidency stated.
The program will begin on Thursday, 4 June, at 9:30 am with a ceremonial welcome at the Union Building. Media representatives are expected to arrive at 7:00 a.m for coverage.
At 10:30 am, President Cyril Ramaphosa and William Ruto will convene for the bilateral talks, where the discussion will focus on trade and investment, regional integration, peace and security and border continental issues
At 12:30 pm, the leaders will oversee the signing of Memoranda of Agreement, followed by a media briefing.
Later in the day, the South Africa Business Forum will take place at 5:00 pm at Gallagher Estate in Midrand, Johannesburg. The forum will bring together government officials to deepen economic cooperation, facilitate business partnerships and explore strategies to unlock the full potential of trade and investment.
The state visit is expected to reinforce ties between the two countries and promote prosperity and stability in Africa.
