A 52-year-old man is being held at Longisa Police Station in Bomet after he allegedly defiled two school children, aged 6 and 10, before giving each of them KSh50.
Bomet East Sub-County Police Commander Michael Singa said the suspect, Kipkirui Sitonik, allegedly approached the two children on Friday, May 29 during their lunch break while they were walking home from school.
The suspect reportedly dragged the children to the Murany area, into a maize plantation, where he defiled them.
He later released the victims, who immediately reported the incident at home.
Following the report, the police launched a search operation and took the victims to Longisa Referral Hospital for medical examination.
With help from the public, the police found the suspect at Kembu Trading Centre, where he was arrested.
