Principal Secretary for Broadcasting and Telecommunications, Stephen Isaboke, was on Monday, February 16 appointed Goodwill Ambassador of Shabana FC during a courtesy meeting with the clubβs Secretary General, Dr Elizaphan Kerama, and Vice-Chairperson Eng. Albert Ocharo.
The meeting reflected on the club’s remarkable journey, marked by their promotion to the Kenyan Premier League after nearly two decades in the lower divisions and an impressive fifth-place finish last season.
The clubβs resilience and commitment were highlighted as a strong example for Kenyan football.
PS Isaboke underscored the importance of keeping sports competitive and safe, noting that football should unite families and communities. In this regard, he reiterated his support for the call to end hooliganism and violence in the game.
He expressed appreciation for the Shabana FC jersey presented to him and noted that he looks forward to wearing it proudly at an upcoming match in his new role as the clubβs Goodwill Ambassador.
