Rachel Ruto shares testimony of woman who conceived twins after her prayer in 2012

First Lady Rachel Ruto left the congregation at the 2026 National Prayer Breakfast Women Convocation visibly moved this morning after sharing a testimony of how a woman she had prayed for over a decade ago walked up to her this Easter, twin daughters by her side, to tell her what God had done.

Speaking at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi on Wednesday, May 27, Rachel narrated how she had been at a shopping centre in her village during the Easter holiday when a woman she did not recognise instantly approached her with a story she had not expected.

“She told me, you don’t know how God used you to bless me. In 2012, I was crying, I was childless. They had laughed at me. But you came to Bungoma to a women’s meeting and you called forward women who did not have children. I came in front; you prayed for me. And look, God blessed me with twins,” Rachel recounted.

The First Lady said the woman was standing right there with her twin girls, full of praise.

What made the moment even more striking, she said, was that she had no recollection of the prayer at all.

“I couldn’t even remember, you know the way you just do something and go,” she said.

Rachel Ruto used the powerful testimony to call on the women gathered at the annual convocation to hold on to their faith, directing particular encouragement at those still waiting on God for the fruit of the womb.

“People of God, women of God, let’s believe God today. I know we have believed, but today our faith has been raised. Anything that you are trusting God for, I want you to know that God is going to do it for you,” she said.

She also called on those present to carry the spirit of prayer beyond the walls of the hotel, urging them to intercede for mothers in villages, young people who have given up, and the broader needs of Kenya, East Africa, and the world.

“Let’s pray for our mothers in the villages. Let’s pray for our young people, our children, those that have given up. Let’s pray for those that have not yet been blessed with the fruit of the womb,” she concluded.
