Nominated MP Sulekha Hulbale has received a major political boost after Saransor women from all sub-clans unanimously endorsed her for the Mandera County Women Representative position ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The endorsement was made during a colourful event held at the Urban Hotel in Nairobi, bringing together Saransor women who pledged to mobilise support for Hulbale across Mandera County.
Speaking during the event, Mama Alasa said the women had made a deliberate decision to rally behind Sulekha, promising to take the campaign to every household in Mandera County and mobilise voters to support her candidature.
“We will go to every household in Mandera and ask our people to support Sulekha. We believe she has what it takes to represent the women of Mandera and champion issues that affect our communities,” Mama Alasa said.
Hulbale thanked the Saransor women for the endorsement, describing it as a demonstration of confidence in her leadership and commitment to the people of Mandera.
She pledged to prioritise women’s rights, empowerment and economic opportunities if elected.
She said women remain the backbone of society and called on them to take an active role in shaping the political future of Mandera County.
Hulbale further urged women and other eligible residents to register as voters, saying increased voter registration would strengthen their voice and influence in the 2027 elections.
