NEDP Party leader Mike Sonko has officially kicked off his party’s grassroots campaign activities in Nairobi, beginning with a tour of Mugumoini Ward in Lang’ata Constituency as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 General Election.
Sonko was accompanied by the party’s Lang’ata parliamentary aspirant, Faiza Omar, and Mugumoini Ward aspirant Vincent Muirigi, popularly known as “Generali”, as they met residents in Southlands and outlined their vision for the constituency.
Declaring that “campaign season is officially on,” Sonko said the visit marked the beginning of a wider grassroots mobilization campaign aimed at strengthening the NEDP’s presence across Nairobi.
He thanked Mugumoini residents for their warm reception, describing their support as a sign of growing confidence in the party’s agenda.
The former Nairobi governor said the engagements would continue across the capital as the party seeks to build support ahead of the elections.
“Our journey starts with the people. Together, we will build a better Nairobi,” Sonko said.
The tour is expected to be the first of several ward-level engagements by the NEDP as political activity gathers momentum in Nairobi, with parties positioning their candidates and mobilizing supporters well ahead of the polls.
