“The Toyota Prado ferrying hooded, armed men in Ol Kalou is not ours” – Vipingo Industries Limited speaks

Vipingo Industries Limited has strongly refuted reports that it owns one of the vehicles that was used by hooded men armed with guns during the Thursday, July 16 Ol Kalou Parliamentary By-election.

While responding to a report by NTV that had revealed the presumed identities of owners of the SUVs used by the armed men to cause chaos and teargas Ol Kalou residents during the mini-poll, Vipingo Industries Limited read mischief in the whole license plate saga.

Vipingo Industries has told TV47 Digital that while it owns a motor vehicle with the same registration number KDW 600Q, its vehicle is, however, a Toyota Probox and not the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado as shown in the videos that have since gone viral.

“…we have no connection whatsoever to it [the Toyota Landcruiser Prado] or the reported activities and individuals in question,” Vipingo Industries says.

TV47 Digital has gotten a hold of the logbook Vipingo Industries is in possession of.

A section of the logbook Vipingo Industries is in possession with. The company says they own a Toyota Probox bearing the same license plate.
This Toyota Probox vehicle bears the registration number KDW 600Q. Vipingo Industries says this is the vehicle they own, and not the Toyota Landcruiser Prado captured in viral videos ferrying masked men armed with guns, teargassing residents during the Ol Kalou By-election on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

The company says: “Vipingo Industries is a responsible Kenyan company committed purely to business activities, ethical practices and transparency all within the law.”

Vipingo Industries has since reported the matter to the police under OB No.14/18/7/2026, and insists that it remains committed to transparency and will cooperate with any relevant authorities if required.

Murkomen orders probe

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has since directed security agencies to investigate the cases of violemce and disruption witnessed during the mini-polls.

“Let me assure Kenyans that the Inspector General of Police deployed enough officers to provide security in Ol Kalou. These allegations of some other persons causing havoc in Ol Kalou must be investigated thoroughly, and anyone found culpable must be arrested regardless of what they were doing and who deployed them to Ol Kalou,” Murkomen said.

He added: “Whether they were deployed by the Inspector General, they must be dealt with and dealt with conclusively. We are not condoning violence in any way.”

Homecoming: Where Flavour Meets the Moment

There are some things that need no introduction. A familiar beat in the background. The unfiltered laughter of a crowded table. The effortless ease of a conversation that starts with  “it’s been a minute” and carries on as though no time has passed at all.  These are the moments that make us feel at home and they are the heartbeat of Manyatta Homecoming.  In true Kenyan spirit, home is never just a physical address. It lives in the spaces where we  come together to reconnect, unwind, and celebrate the culture that binds us. And at the center of every memorable gathering is flavour, the subtle thread that turns a casual meet-up into a shared memory.  Manyatta weaves this sense of place into Homecoming through a palette of distinct flavours crafted for different moments: the sweet warmth of Mango & Ginger, the crisp refresh of Pineapple & Mint, and the vibrant, citrusy kick of Lemon & Ginger. Yet here, the cider is never the sole attraction. It sits naturally alongside the stories, the spontaneous laughter, and the shared rounds as an evening steadily takes on a life of its own.  That exact energy came alive at Itoka – The Crossing, the latest stop in the Manyatta Homecoming experience. Across the venue, tradition met contemporary rhythm as folk melodies seamlessly blended with modern anthems.   Read Also Stoopid Boy’s father explains…
