Three suspected drug traffickers have been arrested after detectives from the National Anti-Narcotics Investigations Bureau (NANIB) seized 118.6 kilograms of Cannabis Sativa worth approximately Sh3.3 million in Narok County.
In a statement posted on its X account on Thursday, August 20, 2026, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the operation was conducted by NANIB detectives based at Narok Police Station following credible intelligence on the suspected trafficking of narcotics.
The detectives raided makeshift structures within the Narok main quarry area, where they recovered the drugs and arrested three suspects identified as Joel Rimin Koisikir, Hassan Mukaria Jackson and Robert Turgut Kipkoech.
According to the DCI, detectives recovered 19 packages of cannabis sativa weighing 118.6 kilograms, with an estimated street value of Sh3,358,000.
The operation also led to the recovery of assorted packing materials allegedly used in the packaging and distribution of the narcotics.
βThe operation not only recovered a substantial quantity of narcotic drugs but also led to the recovery of assorted packing materials used for the illicit trade,β the DCI said.
The three suspects remain in police custody as detectives complete processing ahead of their arraignment in court.
The seized cannabis has also been secured as an exhibit as investigations into the suspected drug trafficking network continue.
The arrests come as law enforcement agencies intensify efforts to disrupt the trafficking and distribution of narcotics across the country.
