TV47’s Andrine Kilemi wins big at MCK excellence awards

Cape Media Limited continues to strengthen its presence in Kenya’s media landscape as a leading broadcaster, producing quality content that reflects society while making a meaningful impact.

This was evident on Friday when the media house celebrated strong performances at the 2026 Annual Media Excellence Awards (AMEA), held at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.

The achievements further reinforced Cape Media’s growing reputation as one of the country’s leading media organizations committed to quality, impactful, and community-driven journalism.

Among the winners was TV47’s Andrine Kilemi, who emerged first in the education category for her impactful reporting on the piece titled “Elusive Equalizer,” which highlighted key issues affecting the education sector and the wider community.

In addition, Radio47’s Amina Abdirahman Iddi from Kajiado County was the 1st Runners up in the sports category.

Meanwhile TV47’s investigative reporter Samira Mohamed was nominated for the awards for her hard-hitting exposé Divine or Deceptive, an in-depth investigation into alleged miraculous HIV healings linked to self-proclaimed prophet David Owuor.

The report examined claims by followers who said they had been cured of HIV/AIDS through divine intervention, scrutinized medical records, and questioned the authenticity of the testimonies.

The annual awards, organized by the Media Council of Kenya, recognize journalists who demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and a significant contribution to the media industry in Kenya.
