The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has intensified grassroots registration and mobilization campaigns across Busia County as the party seeks to strengthen its support base ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking in Busia Town after meeting party delegates, County UDA chair Mourice Chetambe said the party is targeting new members through grassroots recruitment drives, with local leaders and supporters engaging residents at the Ward and Village levels.

Chetambe emphasized that mobilization is also aimed at building a stronger political network capable of championing the party’s  agenda ahead of the polls.

UDA officials say the grassroots strategy will be key in expanding the party’s presence in the county, traditionally considered an opposition stronghold. 

In addition, the UDA leaders urged residents to join the party and participate actively in its activities as preparations for the 2027 elections gather pace.

The latest push comes amid heightened political realignments in Busia, with various parties stepping up efforts to consolidate support and position their candidates ahead of the next General Election.
