Uhuru Kenyatta’s office dismisses fake statement on Gachagua meeting

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s office has dismissed as fake a statement circulating online claiming he had declined requests to meet former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Kenyatta’s spokesperson, Kanze Dena, shared the clarification on social media, simply labelling the statement “FAKE NEWS.”

The purported statement claimed that several requests had been made through intermediaries for a meeting between Kenyatta and Gachagua, allegedly to discuss the 2027 political strategy.

It further claimed that Kenyatta had rejected the requests and was not considering a meeting with the DCP party leader.

The document appeared to carry the branding and signature of Kenyatta’s office, but Kanze Dena’s post confirmed that it was not an official communication.

The clarification comes amid heightened political activity as parties and opposition leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
